BONNIE DOOM

Standing in at 5'5'', Bonnie Doom didn't stand much of a threat to any opponent in the ring. Her hands clamped up as she raised them to her chin, then back down. She would jitter them out to get rid of the anxiety she was building up, but that didn't help much. She even had to ask permission to take a shot, as the organizer didn't want the girls to be too dipsy. The shots looked more like cough syrup measured for five year-olds. I have never done this before, she said.

She was among first-time mud wrestlers putting on a show to benefit the Bay Area Derby Girls at Cell Space in San Francisco, Friday, February 6, 2009. The benefit show would provide the girls with funds to continue practicing three times a week for their monthly bouts.

Bonnie Doom hit the mud in two different events, coming out with huge smiles from the pit. "The worst part is the mud in my ears," she said after a triumphant second match, entitled, the best of the worst.

This is just a short photo story on her adventure that night.
